Does garlic need a frost? Hi, I recall hearing that garlic will grow better / bigger if it is placed
in the fridge for a while before planting. Would this be right? We get only
a few mild frosts per year here.

We researched a considerable amount of gardening books and couldn't find any
reference to garlic growing better after some cold stratification. That does
not mean it doesn't.
I don't think there is any harm sticking it in the fridge for some time
before planting.
