Fruit Falling off Lemon Bush
We have a small Meyer lemon bush and after flowering, small lemons formed, but have now started to fall off. Can you please tell us what could be the cause and the remedy for this...Thanks
There are many reasons why the fruit might fall off your tree. Have a look to see if you can see any mites, aphids or larvae that might be attacking the fruit. If you can supply a description for identification, this would help. Sometimes a small tree becoming too dry could cause the fruit to drop off. Lemons are very shallow rooted, so will dry out quickly in hot dry weather. You could try mulching around the roots. Lemons also appreciate a good supply of potassium - sources are a liquid seaweed based fertiliser or composted seaweed.
