In NZ the Open Polytechnic offers a short course in Organic Growing. This is a basic introduction to the principles of organic philosophy and management.

Christchurch Polytechnic will be offering a more comprehensive correspondence programme from mid 2000, the working title for this programme is 'Certificate in Certified Organic Production'. It's designed to be studied over one year and is mainly intended for people who want to go into commercial organic production. To do this programme students need to have access to some land to carry out the practical parts of the various courses in the programme.Students who don't want to enrol for the whole programme will have the option of enrolling in one or more individual courses which make up the whole programme.
