 Back to the questions . . .
White Fly I’m looking for an organic control for white fly. I’m growing indoor tomatoes and broccoli.
- Encarisa Formosa - a beneficial wasp.
- Pyrethrum spray - make sure it is organically acceptable. This should be the first step in controlling whitefly, especially if the problem is bad. But don’t use pyrethrum while Encarisa is active - they will be seriously affected by the spray. Pyrethrum needs a minimum of four days to break down sufficiently to be safe for Encarisa.
- Yellow, sticky boards, which are readily available, attract the whitefly and have the benefit of being an ongoing control - however, these will also trap beneficial insects such as ladybird, beetles and lacewings.
